Bagshot FC release pre-season schedule as Wickens faces key test
Bagshot FC have officially unveiled their pre-season schedule, giving supporters their first look at the road that lies ahead before the 2026/27 campaign gets underway. The fixtures mark the beginning of a new chapter for the club under manager Brett Wickens, who will be looking to build momentum and establish his squad ahead of a crucial season.
Pre-season is about far more than results. It provides an opportunity for players to regain match sharpness, for new signings to settle into the group, and for coaching staff to implement their ideas on the pitch. For Wickens, these fixtures represent a significant test as he looks to shape a competitive squad capable of meeting the club's ambitions.
The summer programme begins with a notable encounter against landlords Frimley Green FC on 18 July. The local fixture offers an early opportunity for supporters to see the side in action and measure progress against tough opposition. Bagshot then face Kingsmeadow United on 22 July before travelling to Woking Tigers three days later on 25 July.
August opens with another important challenge as Reading YMCA play host to us on 1 August. The fixture is expected to provide a stern examination as preparations enter their final stages. The schedule concludes at home on 8 August with a clash against neighbour's Lightwater United, giving Wickens one final opportunity to fine-tune his squad before competitive football returns.
Each game will offer valuable lessons for the management team, whether assessing fitness levels, testing tactical systems, or integrating new faces. While pre-season results are never the primary focus, performances across these five fixtures will provide an early indication of the direction Bagshot FC are heading.
