Bagshot Football Club are very pleased to announce the appointment of Ellis Woods, who joins the club after previously running Berks County FC.
Ellis brings significant experience and a proven track record of progressing a football club.
During his time at Berks County, he helped take the club from Step 7 to Step 5, overseeing a period of sustained growth and success, both on and off the pitch.
His knowledge of non-league football and experience of building a club will be hugely valuable, as Bagshot FC looks to develop and progress quickly.
In a statement from our new appointment, Ellis Woods said:
"This is a new one for me! I'm delighted to be joining Bagshot FC as "Head of Football".
Non-league football has been a big part of my life for a long time and after stepping away from management to focus on my business and family, I always felt I'd eventually find a way back into the game.
This role gives me the opportunity to do that in a slightly different capacity.
My focus will be on supporting the football operation across the club, working closely with the first-team manager, players and committee to help put the right structure in place for the remainder of the season and beyond.
A big part of that will be recruitment. I've built a strong network of players, managers and clubs across Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire over the years, and I'm looking forward to using those relationships to help strengthen the squad and support the management team, where they feel they need it.
Our first goal will be to improve how we operate behind the scenes and ultimately give Bagshot FC a platform from which it can grow again.
After a sticky start to the season, we'll be seeking to bring in and support the current playing group with players who can help them compete with the clubs, at the higher end of the table.
Bagshot FC is a club with a huge amount of potential and a history that spans back over a hundred years! Importantly, the people who run the club genuinely care about where it goes next!
I'm looking forward to getting started and helping them along the way. Let's get to work"!
Chairman, Stuart Morgan, describes what he makes of the club's new acquisition:
"Ellis responded to a club advert we put out a couple of weeks ago, as we searched for new talent at the club; once I met him and discussed what the club needed, I strongly felt he'd be a massive asset for The Baggies. I can't wait for him to get started.
Things have been extremely difficult since the Summer and results haven't given any respite to the problems the club has faced. Having Ellis on board has now given the club renewed focus and is one of the many pieces in the jigsaw the club needs, to complete a successful picture for the future"
Everyone at the club is wishing him the very best of luck in his new role.
